This was our first time at the particular restaurant and since we were in New Orleans, we weren't too sure what we would get with an authentic Vietnamese place, but since New Orleans is a melting pot of cultures, we were rather surprised at how tasty everything was!! The service was rather quick since it was a table of seven and I really liked the updated Victorian style house that was converted into a restaurant. I would love to hear the history!! My vegetarian Pho was delicious with a vegetarian broth that did not have any MSG/mono soda glutamate.I am Hapa and horribly allergic to MSG!! So it's really hard for me to find places to eat! My only complaint about the food was that the avocado spring roll did not have any avocado in it! Perhaps they forgot to put it in and I didn't want to complain since I was already full and I had fun on the way. The restrooms were adequate, but there was no hot water, so I worry about the employees washing their hands properly or if there was hot water perhaps in the back for ashing and just not in the restrooms? Regardless, the food tasted delicious so I wouldn't mind going back.

Don't be fooled by the lack of decor. The Vietnamese food is great. We shared Grilled Pork Steamed Flour Bun (appetizer, but enough for one as a main) and we both had Pho. Mine was the Beef meatball Pho. They flavor was wonderful but the meatballs are lacking flavor, likely typical for this item. Great neighborhood for shopping for cool clothing.

This review is based on take out. I called ahead and ordered 4 pho (1 combo, 1 meatball, 1 rare steak with meatball, and 1 filet mignon). We also ordered egg rolls. I am used to the egg rolls (or fried spring rolls) being served with lettuce, cucumber, and rice noodles so you can wrap the fried roll inside, but I don't think they serve it like that here - still, the roll itself was delicious. Their spring roll nuoc mam fish sauce is really good - lots of lime juice. The combination pho was so good! Lots of little gelatinous pieces of tendon, rare steak, brisket and meatballs! The broth is flavorful and has a nice deep flavor. And of course they give you a large bag of sprouts, jalapenos, and Thai basil. All of my friends loved the pho here and we will definitely order again! Plus it's right across the street from my hair salon I go to so next time I'll dine in.

Exceeded all expectations, came to NOLA for beignets and Creole/Cajun, but heard the Vietnamese food was good too. The waiter was SO nice!

Vietnamese is my favorite cuisine, and I try to eat it everywhere I go, from where I live in California to wherever I went on my last trip to Vietnam. The standouts here are the pho dac biet, grilled pork bao, and the egg rolls. The pho broth was complex, the grilled pork marinade was fantastic and the meat had a nice bit of char, and the eggrolls were hot and crispy (and featured taro). We also ordered a shrimp and avocado salad, but it was made with iceberg lettuce (not lotus root or papaya) and seemed the weakest of all the dishes. Still, if you pour nuoc cham on anything, I will eat it. Definitely returning for a chance to try some other dishes and get my Vietnamese fix next time I'm in town.

I passed by this little spot on Magazine and decided I needed to give it a try. The interior is pretty unassuming. Clean. Neat. Not too flashy. The staff were pleasant and the smells from the kitchen were quite inviting. I took my order to go. The pho DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The rare brisket pho was extremely well prepared. The broth was full of flavor and they did not skimp on toppings. I enjoyed every bite. This is definitely some of the best pho I have had out of the many places I have tried it around America. This has now become my "go to" pho spot. Not to be missed.

Have been travel around the US for the last couple months and always find a good pho spot every time I visit any city i stopped by. So far Pho Tran is amazing and authentic to me, there bread is perfection, crispy and flavorful with the touch of pickle and fresh cucumber. Their coffee is Freaking strong so be prepare for that if you want something to wake up your day (like you drink 4 expresso shot) The egg rolls is fine not a big fan of fried dish (just my preference) . The two entree, Pho and Grilled Pork Chop with steam rice. Let me tell ya, the pho is super goooood, i have been so many pho places from west coast to down south but so far this is one of my top 3 places to eat for pho. Their Pork chop is 10/10 amazing work staff. This place price is very right within the tourist location town Garden District, will recommend everyone this dish but with extra side of rice since the pork chop is so good. Their service is on top, also place putside seating for customers, what else do you need , very nice place to stop by is you visit NOVA and want some authentic vietnamese foods. Love this place Jesse Truong

Visiting from LA, there's a moment when asian food is mandatory during a trip away. Found Pho Tran by chance, and even my lyft driver vouched for the food on my way here. I'm glad to say I found a staple location for pho in NOLA and the price is reasonable while portions are filling. Would recommend to anyone that's looking for a quick fix on delicious Vietnamese food.

There is no shortage of Pho restaurants in the SF Bay Area and I am known to indulge often. Usually most Pho restaurants are consistently similar to one another, but during my travels to New Orleans I found something special. This little restaurant not only has kind staff but it has the best Pho I have ever tasted. I say this because in every other case I was compelled to add hoisin sauce and sriracha to the broth and maybe some fish sauce to get it to my liking. This time was different. I tasted the broth and was instantly addicted to the rich taste, perfect flavor, and just the right saltiness. This is the first time in nearly 30 years of eating Pho that I did not add condiments to flavor my broth. I dumped the fresh vegetables into my bowl and went to town. This is the best Pho noodle soup I have ever tasted in my life. Nothing in San Jose little Saigon or anywhere else has come close to this. Wow!

The Vietnamese coffee was rich and perfectly balanced, setting a great tone for our meal. We tried the seafood noodle soup and shrimp, both seafood-packed dishes that were fantastic. Service was friendly, and the location was spot on. Only critique is that protein portions were a bit on the lighter side. However, definitely a great Vietnamese spot to check out!
